Linda Blackwell retired after teaching choral music for 40 years. She has taken her choral students to Florida, Sacramento, and San Diego, as well as numerous venues throughout Los Angeles. They achieved Superior and First Place rankings at choral festivals. She has been the vocal and musical director to more than 30 musical theatre productions for both junior high and high school. Many of Linda’s students have followed careers in music and theatre. She received a B.A. degree in Vocal Music Education from the University of Portland, a master’s degree in Choral Music from California State University, Los Angeles, and a fellowship in Choral Music from Northwestern University. Trained classically, Linda switched to jazz and musical theatre soon after college. She performed throughout southern California until she started teaching.
