Marisa Novak is originally from San Diego, California, where she grew up performing in community musical theatre productions and singing opera. She graduated from Oberlin College and Conservatory with a Bachelor of Music in Classical Voice Performance and Bachelor of Arts in History. She has performed principal roles in many operas, including Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel, Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges, and Weill’s Street Scene. In addition, Marisa has sung in master classes with renowned opera singer Marilyn Horne, composer William Bolcom, and pianist Martin Katz. After years of performing, Marisa decided to turn her love of music and advocating for artists into a career as a music attorney. In 2020, Marisa graduated from UCLA School of Law with a specialization in Media, Entertainment, and Technology Law and Policy. Nowadays, she works as an attorney at a boutique law firm in Beverly Hills, where she represents recording artists, song writers, composers, and producers. Marisa is thrilled to be singing with the Metropolitan Master Chorale.
